View of MBS from the Garden Side
The Marina Bay Sands (MBS) hotel in Singapore is Iconic to say the least. For most, the hotel stands out as the primary feature in the Singapore skyline, and is a top travel destination for travelers around the world. If you are planning a trip to Singapore then you may be considering a stay at this location. Before you book, take a look at my review and hopefully I can help you to make the best decision for your travel experience.
Marina Bay Sands Lobby
The Pros:
- Easy to find. you won't have any trouble getting there, every taxi driver and tour operator knows exactly where MBS is
- Lots of things to do. Observation Decks, Light Shows, a Casino, tons of shopping, world class dining, and of course, the famous infinity pool. you can spend your whole vacation right inside the hotel complex
- Fantastic service. the staff at MBS is amazing. They are knowledgeable and eager to help you out with anything you may need
- Great Rooms with a view. you'll find yourself with a large room with either a view of the skyline or the gardens and bay. Both are spectacular.
- In the middle of everything. You will find yourself close to most of Singapore's major attractions. Everything you will want to do is just a short walk from the hotel.

The Cons:
- Price. when i stayed at MBS we were returning from a couple of weeks in Bali. Our short 2 night stay at MBS for 2 cost about as much as two full weeks of lodging in Ubud. It was quite a shock.
- Large Crowds. At check in, at the pool, in the restaurants, expect to see people everywhere. This is a destination for everyone, and the hotel has thousands of rooms. Be ready to deal with some lines.
- Lack of Exclusivity. Since MBS is so large, I did not feel like I was staying at a 5 star hotel, which usually provides a sense of exclusivity to its guests. Staying there feels a little more like being on a cruise ship. People everywhere.
- Lots of Walking. MBS is a huge complex. You will find yourself long distances to get to different areas of the resort. Pack some comfy shoes!
View From The Pool Deck
After weighing the pros and cons for a stay at MBS, I would recommend this hotel. Yes, it's expensive, but for me it was worth it as a bucket list item. The rooms are great, the views are spectacular, and the rooftop pool is the best pool in the world. Hands down! When booking, I would recommend a cub room. You will pay a little extra for the club package, but i found the amenities worthwhile. Daily breakfast is included which is about a $100 daily value, and you also get access to Club 55. The club offers daily tea time and happy hour with complimentary alcoholic drinks and snacks. During our stay we didn't even need to go to any restaurants. There was plenty to eat between trips to the club and the free breakfast.

MBS is a world class hotel, but it is also huge. Expect lines and crowds everywhere you go, but don't let that discourage you. You can have an amazing experience for a couple of days at this iconic resort. It is worth shelling out the money for a great experience in Singapore!
