Jesse Lacey, the front man of American rock band Brand New, has been accused of soliciting nudes from a minor. Nicole Garey has claimed that in 2002 when she was 15, Lacey asked her to send nude pictures of herself; he was 24 at the time. Garey posted the claims on a now deleted Facebook post by a guitar tech Brian Diaz, writing that Lacey ‘demanded specific poses/settings/clothing, demeaned me, and made it clear that my sexuality was the only thing I had to offer.’ She also claimed that he made her ‘watch him masturbate on Skype.’ Lacey has yet to comment on the allegations; Metro.co.uk has contacted Lacey’s reps for comment.

‘I was a kid, but like all teenagers, I thought I was an adult. I was very wrong,’ she added. Speaking to Alt-Press, Garey said that they met in 2002 at a Brand New show. She was taking pictures and Lacey asked for his email so she could share the images of the concert. She claims that the conversation moved from email to Skype and AOL Instant Messenger and she was 15 when he first asked for nudes, which she found flattering: ‘I was like, “Oh, it’s an older guy in a band that I like.” I wasn’t used to the attention.’ She added that the conversation was sporadic and was ‘him sending requests for the most part’. ‘It was never really violent or upfront; it was always just very… underhanded and manipulative, in a psychological way,’ she said.
