Ridiyagama Safari Park is the first ever open safari park in Sri Lanka opened to public 2016.03.28 onwards. The foundation stone was laid on 20th of Dec. 2008.Initially it was designed as on 80 acre Lion safari. Later he plan was expanded up to 500 acres to provide suitable housing facility for various animals.
These 500 acres of land has been divided in to several zones where the animals are housed in spacious enclosures designed with the objective of providing an environment that closely resembles their natural habitats.
