While wandering around on my feed I saw some post using the tag, Slothicorn. An artist friend of mine Hive account@ishanvirtue informed me about this and said that it also helps artists. Due to my curiosity, I checked it out and I discovered something interesting!

Slothicorn helps creative minds!

Yes, you got it right. This movement allows artists or even those who are still starting out can show their ideas freely on this crypto-related platform. And it's already such a blessing! Steemit and now Slothicorn! But it's not that easy, there are guidelines that we need to follow. Of course, we need maintain quality content not for other people but for ourselves.

So, I made an art for this.

A small brief introduction for myself. I'm Q, a graphic artist and an aspiring filmmaker. Actually, I'm still studying and I'm on my third year now taking up Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts. Art is one of my escape route from this cruel world. Stress in school, in real life issues, and financial struggles. But because of Steem, I saw a small light of hope that I can re-route my path and face those challenges that will come on my way. And now, I meet Slothicorn.

The Process

First, I bring my reference photo to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014. You can still use any other editing software.

And I start tracing the subject using the Pen Tool. I intentionally don't copy the precise details since I just want to use this as reference for the body.

Nothing really complex with the process. Since I want the artwork to be cute and the same time informative, I am only using 4 colors for simplicity.

My tip for using proper colors, use at least 4 to 5 shades and it should base with a single color. For this one, I'm currently using the color pallette FCCAA0. You can check this site for guidance.

I added some shadows and highlights for additional creativity wink

Now we're almost done, since I want it's a crypto related art as symbol for my experience here on Steemit. I added some logos of some cryptocurrency

Lastly, the unicorn horn.

I just want to share this to the community as my gratitude for Slothicorn for giving us artist an opportunity to grow on our own fields. Even those people that are not art related, still you give them hope to strengthen their own character.
