What Are SmartCards?

The idea for SmartCards is pretty simple: Using SmartCash as a payment solution without the banking system as intermediary that works in a real-life scenario without waiting time and fees and within the widely available technology.

To create a new SmartCard you can either use the web or mobile application and then top it up with SmartCash from one of your wallets. You will need a 6-digit pin number to access the funds on the card. As a merchant you will get a point of sale app that automatically calculates prices from your currency into SmartCash. A simple scan of the QR-code on the buyers SmartCard will initiate the sale and be confirmed with the buyers pin code.

The transaction is confirmed instantly which is enabled by the broad SmartNode network of SmartCash holders. And there is no transaction fee but a tiny blockchain fee of 0.001 SMART. You don't even need an internet connection as a buyer. The QR-code can be scanned in your offline app or you print a physical card and use that instead.
