Are we suffering from Stockholm syndrome?
Stockholm syndrome (sometimes erroneously referred to as Helsinki syndrome) Is a condition that causes hostages to develop a psychological alliance with their captors as a survival strategy during captivity.
"The government isn't that bad"
"Stop blaming the government"
"The health system really does care"
"But if we didn't work 70 hours a week in a job we hate, we wouldn't be able to afford to pay for a house we're never in"
"there's no way they'd put poison in our food"
"banks actually have your best interests at heart" - excuse the pun.
This might sound extreme, but is it really?
Decentralize your mind
Detaching ourselves from what we know can be a painful experience. It is, I imagine, similar to being woken up by having your eyelids peeled off with a rusty razor blade. We know the world is fucked up. People are in survival mode. People do weird shit when they're in survival mode.
The Block Chain Butterfly Effect
In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state
When I'm in an optimistic idealistic mood, I like to think how different things would be with the implementation of things like cryto & the block chain, look what it's already doing. It's not hard to imagine how life will be when the whole world is utilizing it. People look at you like you're mad if you even mention that we're slaves in a system we didn't agree to. Why do we think that just because there are governments, banks & systems set in place, that we have to be a part of it. Of course there are negatives to the butterfly effect, just let me bathe in optimism for a minute, Let's have a look at some things that could change for the better and what we can unlearn.
Poverty
Money has to come from somewhere, and charities & not for profit organizations don't always get the funding they need, to help the people in need. Governments aren't always ready to address the issue are they? Fundraising can become more than a need for donations from the public, it could be as easy as a comment, or a like. Money should never be a barrier to have access to food, healthcare & education. I believe a larger scale of the community we already have on Steemit, will help to alleviate the issues surrounding poverty, which could make greed another thing to unlearn.
Pollution & Mass production
Things that negatively affect the environment & human rights. We blame places like China & India for causing mass pollution.. but we're the ones buying the unnecessary crap that then gets thrown in to the rubbish, or ocean. Do you think someone would have made 500 Million fidget spinners, if they didn't have to worry about making money? - like I said, people do weird shit when they're in survival mode. I imagine people working almost 24/7 in factories would rather not, do you agree?
What butterfly effects do you see happening in the future?
Steem’s Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) give anyone the power to launch and sell Proof-ofBrain tokens, which are tokens distributed by “upvote” and “like”-based algorithms
and can be integrated with websites to align incentives and spur growth, while websites are empowered to adopt sustainable, currency-centric revenue models.
The key word is Anyone.
Yup, anyone - a complete non greedy decentralized mind!

Why create SMT's?
I am loving all of the valid points questions & doubts I am seeing in conversations from people all over Steemit. It only helps the development of Steem & SMT's.
