The day dawned sunny and dry for a change, so we saddled up the pickup and went in search of the perfect tree. Most of the tree farms around here have been picked over quite well over the past few years, so we figured we were in for the long haul.
We went to the first place on the agenda and were sorely disappointed when we arrived. There really wasn't much to choose from, or so it seemed. We figured we had nothing to lose by at least looking, so off we went. The tree farm wasn't really big, but I wanted to try there first as this particular farm is certified organic. They sell chickens and eggs in addition to the trees and the certification is for all of it. Their price was reasonable compared to the other tree farms in the area too.
We had just about decided to head back to the truck and try someplace else, when I looked over by the small barn and saw this one particular tree. We went to look and it met all of our criteria; it had to be at least 9 feet tall, have an alpine look to it and have the thicker shorter needles. (any type of fir would do) For the first time EVER, we had our Christmas tree in under 30 minutes and headed home! Amazing! To make it even better, this tree was half the cost of the other tree farms in the area! Bonus!
This is the view from near the barn where we found our tree. Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice day! :)
