This weekend, I am kid watching my grandchildren. I don't want to call it babysitting for two reasons. They aren't babies anymore and I never understood why in the world would you want to sit on a baby? That just seems like such a bad idea.
So, I am calling it kid watching. What do you call the events when you get to have the kids all to yourself with the parents out of town?
Fun!
Yes, that is a good word for it.
Yesterday, was "stay in your pajamas all day" day. Not me. I handed the kid duty over to my daugher - who added another little boy to the mix - so that I could go the San Diego Steemit meetup.
Here is a teaser about it and look for a much longer post later today.
San Diego Steemit Meetup
This morning, it was back to a day ruled by the clock. I got the kids up around 6 in the morning. Actually, the true story might be that little dude number 2 (who had crawled into bed with me in the middle of the night) opened his eyes a bit before me.
But since I am telling the story, I woke the boys up and the day got started - making breakfast, school lunches, brush hair, brush teeth, get dressed, have a fit ( a small one and it wasn't me), find shoes, fill up water bottles, get to the car and finally into the car.
Oh, the car. A brand new minivan with no key needed and buttons to push - very different from my old truck. But I needed to drive the car with the car seats.
We made it to school on time and I made it back to the house. When I pulled into the driveway, these tomatoes caught my eyes.
It is the middle of winter right now - even in San Diego. And we had a few nights with some frost. But those tomatoes seem not to care and producing in abundance.
Guess what I had for breakfast?
Yes!!! A whole bunch of super delicious tomatoes.
