When I was a small boy mu grandfathers brother, My uncle, would go out every spring and meticulously hand paint ONE BRANCH of flowers on a white dogwood PINK. He would do it at night, and it was a large tree..
ONE BRANCH now looked like it was grafted perfectly with a PINK branch.. We even had folks from the local botanical society come and ask for permission to take clippings.. FUN right..?
Well when my uncle passed away , my cousin had the bright idea to take his tradition one step further.
He painted the tree branches, but not just a natural pink, he used blue and some sort of orange as well.
Folks would slam on the breaks and sneak into the yard at night to STEAL clippings.
he did this two years in a row....
The local Constable came by the house and requested he not do it anymore for the sake of public safety
