Snouted Cobra (Naja annulifera)
One of the most dangerous snakes in Africa. It has a very potent nurotoxic venom that can kill a man in just a few hours.
It is one of South Africa's Deadly Dozen .
It used to be called the Egyptian Cobra, but in the 1980s it was found to be a species on it's own. This is why many of the older generation still call it the Egyptian Cobra.
