Note: The Dtube version of this Vlog has been working on and off over the last few days after publishing. Sometimes it loads and plays, sometimes it doesn't. If you receive the message saying it is not a supported file format please watch via the embedded YouTube video. I made sure that the original version was encoded in the right format for YouTube/Dtube and that it wasn't over 100Mb in file size. I am not sure what has happened but it is a problem with Dtube. Many thanks for watching.
This is my Vlog entry for the SndBox summer camp travel writers quest. Although I have some limited experience with video editing from compiling the videos that feature in the Scuba Scribe series, I have never filmed a Vlog before. It was a fun experience, but it really took me outside my comfort zone, stretching me creatively and testing the introvert writer in me. I found the piece to camera parts particularly hard work, I hope you will excuse my nervousness.
Unfortunately, the equipment used was not of the highest standard. All I have is a rather old Motorola smart phone with a 5 MP camera. I can't afford to buy anything new at the moment and couldn't get hold of a friend with a go-pro that I could borrow so I have tried to make up for the quality of the footage through some clever editing process.
The music in this clip is a cover of The Leaving of Liverpool, originally by The Pogues. The performers of this cover are called Squawkabout, released on YouTube under a Creative Commons Licence.
I hope you enjoy my first foray into vlogging on Dtube. Thanks for watching 🎥
