Spurs continue their hot streak, scoring 11 goals in just 2 games. Their 5-0 victory over Bournemouth yesterday coming just three days after they trashed Everton 6-2.
The match started with neither side being able to get into the flow of the game, as both kept pushing forward but we're unable to create any opportunities. Bournemouth finally created the first chance in the 13th minute, and had another attempt just a minute later. It was Spurs however that would get the first goal of the game in the 16th minute, after a shot from Christian Eriksen took a wicked deflection off Jefferson Lerma and went past the keeper to find the net. There was debate on whether it should be an own goal, but it was eventually given to Eriksen.
Spurs went on to double their lead 6 minutes later, after Son received the ball from Kyle Walker-Peters and blasted it into the net. The 3rd goal for Spurs came in the 35th minute, with Walker-Peters finding Lucas Moura with a cross, and Moura easily putting it past the keeper. Spurs went into half time with a commanding 3-0 lead, as their opponents failed to find the back of the net before the break.
Juan Foyth took down Wilson in the box at the start of the second half, but was lucky not to concede a penalty as the referee denied Bournemouth's appeal for one. The Cherries would have gotten a goal in the 54th minute, after Stanislas helped them finally find the net, but then the goal was ruled out as an offside. Spurs then increased their already wide lead in the 61st minute, after Kane converted a pass from Eriksen. With the game already in the bag, Spurs still scored a 5th goal, with Son taking advantage of a scramble in the box to send it home.
With Man City losing, Tottenham moved up to 2nd place in the Premier League. Spurs still have a lot of work as they sit 6 points behind Liverpool who are at the top of the League. Kane who scored his 12th goal during the game is now tied with Salah and Aubameyang for the golden boot.
