It seemed almost fitting that Real Madrid was to be drawn with Bayern Munich, given the history that they have with each other. Both teams have faced each other in the semifinals six times before, with both sides winning three matches each. But this time, maybe the reason there were drawn together was because it was meant to be. It appears reports that Roma was advertising tickets for the second leg of the Champions League semifinals against Liverpool, scheduled for May 2, yesterday. As seen below.
The image comes from options available to season ticket holders. The matches listed were Roma’s upcoming tie against Genoa and a premature matchup against Liverpool since the draw hasn't begun yet.
It could be a mistake or something more sinister. But football is no stranger to conspiracies and scandals. Only just a decade ago, a massive match-fixing scandal engulfed the Serie A, resulting in relegation to Serie B for Juventus.
Another conspiracy involved Ian Rush who many questioned why he went straight for the ball containing Atletico Madrid, thus drawing them against Real Madrid and avoiding an all-Spanish final.
And just two years ago in 2016, Roberto Carlos mysteriously had a change of heart about which ball to choose when picking the teams for the Champions League group stage. This incident caused many to believe the now famous conspiracy theory of the hot and cold balls so the drawer can identify the individual balls.
