Community Manager Job Description:
You would be the face of the ONO social network, managing communications in both directions. You’re a digital-savvy employee and responsible for all communications, PR, social media, events, and content creation, among other things.
This is a Web 2.0 communications role, incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the company’s brand, both online and off.
Here are the everyday duties:
- Content creation — writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels.
- Social media marketing — creating, managing and growing the ONO social network presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, Reddit and other strategically relevant online properties.
- Events and event planning — attending industry events in your city (often outside of 9–5 hours) and planning meetups for your community.
- Public relations — managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns.
- Customer relations — the Community Manager is often responsible for customer support — answering questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter) and managing any online feedback forums such as Telegram.
- Communications/marketing strategy — the Community Manager is responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications.
- Analytics — Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
Desired Skills
- Culture fit — Blockchain background desired but not a requirement, bilingual in Chinese and English a major plus. Familiarity with cryptocurrency, social media trends and culture. Growth hacking is major plus.
- Outgoing personality — Required to walk into networking events and be comfortable introducing yourself to strangers.
- Writing skills — a background in journalism or experience with writing. Native English writer.
- Social media experience — understand Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blockchain-based sites and social media tools.
- Willingness to work around the clock — being a Community Manager isn’t a 9–5 job. This job involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hour.
- PR experience — have experience with Public Relations.
- Passion — Understand and be passionate about the core principles of the ONO social network which is decentralized and for the next generation of social media users who want to control their own data.
