Creating Engagement with Posts.
When it comes to posting on Facebook (And other similar social media networks.) It is all about getting engagement with your posts.. I am of course referring to Facebook business pages, not your personal timeline.
It is a proven statistic that a photo will get 3.2 x more engagement than a post that is purely text-based, so it makes complete sense to use photographs wherever possible. But it is important to remember that a photograph alone will not create the best results, you do need to have some text to go along with it. What I always recommend is that you get your point across in the first two sentences, the first sentence should be the 'enticer' a 'reason' for fans to interact and engage, whilst the second sentence should be the call to action, IE, 'Buy Today' , 'Order now whilst stocks last' Etc. Or it could be simply 'please share with your friends' or 'Tag a friend who will like this!'.
By keeping it short and sweet it is much better than a long-winded lump of text, most people 'skim' through their posts and you need to grab their attention immediately. Another useful tool with Facebook Business Pages is that you can tag your products into photographs, I recommend that if you are providing products and services, have them on your Facebook page and then linked back to your website, of course you could always use a shop platform for social media such as shopify, but then that will cost you money, whereas product tagging is completely free.
