I have been using demonsaw for a little while now and I love it!
I think it is the future of information sharing, cloud services, and even anonymity networks. It brings great security to the hands of all computer users. It is free and most importantly does not extort your private data!
demonsaw.com puts it best:
Demonsaw is a secure and anonymous information sharing application that makes security simple and gives you back control of your data.
Chat, message, and share files without fear or consequence.
Host your own private routers or join public networks.
Getting started is simple:
- Go to demonsaw click download choose the software for your operating system.
- unzip and open the program (no install necessary!)
- Optionally replace [client] with any name you like. Choose a color you like or stay with the default.
Now you are connected to the public network. You can click on the chat tab to say hello to other users. You can browse the public shares. Share whatever you like, any files you share that are identical to ones already being shared will automatically contribute to swarming. When downloading there is no forced auto swarm like other file sharing applications. You can re-host what you download if you want.
Anonymous
clients on the network never interact directly. Instead the clients encrypt the data and send it to the transfer routers where it is passed to other routers before arriving to the receiving client. This is great compared to P2P software like bittorrent where your IP address is shared with all other peers.
note 3.1.0 has released since these screen shots were taken.
Privacy
demonsaw looks like regular encrypted HTTP network traffic to attackers. The website, transfer/message routers don't track you. Your data is yours and yours only.
Groups
Easily create private groups for sharing data/chatting with friends and family. Use groups to securely sync data across your own devices.
Free
No ads, no installs, no malware, no honeypots, no bundled software, no logging, no tracking, no lies, and no bullshit.
Demonsaw is fully self-funded by its founder.
You're free to express yourself.
I hope this post reaches others that see the potential in this software and those who can benefit from it today!
Welcome to the Future of Information Sharing.
