On-grid solar system
It is a solar electricity system connected to your household as well as the utility grid. Any excess electricity produced is transferred to the grid which enables you to save money. It however does not work in the absence of the utility grid's power and side by side there is no battery backup. The least startup in all three systems is of on grid.
Off-grid solar system:
It is a solar electricity system operational in the absence of a utility grid and comes with a battery backup. The startup cost is higher due to the batteries and there is no option for net metering which deprives you with the facility to send back excess units produced and save money.
Hybrid solar system:
To get the best of both worlds the hybrid system brings in a battery backup and comes with the option of net-metering. Its startup cost is the highest of all the three systems and there exists a need to change batteries after a period of time, depending on the time the batteries are charged and discharged.
