Greetings to my dear friends of CleanPlanet
How did your day go? I hope it went well, just as planned.
Today was a very busy one for me, the kind of day that almost made me skip my cleanup activity. I got up very early in the morning to prepare for school. By 6:30 am, I was already at the premises. It usually takes more than 20km to get there, so I always start my journey early.
After school, I headed to the shop as usual. On my way, I noticed a nearby street that looked really dirty and unkempt. Even though I had a lot on my plate, I couldn’t ignore the sight. As a CleanPlanet advocate, I decided to take action and clean the area.
Just as I got my transparent waste bag ready to begin, it started drizzling. I felt disappointed because I had other things to do, but I didn’t let the rain discourage me. I spent the time sewing clothes and waited patiently for the rain to stop. It took a long time, almost two to three hours. You know how those types of rains can be.
Honestly, I had already lost hope about cleaning the place. But around past 5 pm, the rain reduced to a light drizzle. It wasn’t enough to drench someone, so I set out again to clean.
As I cleaned, a lot of people passed by, watching me. Some looked surprised, probably wondering if I was okay cleaning under the drizzle. Others smiled and appreciated the effort. Some even said, “Well done oo.” I smiled inside, knowing I was doing something meaningful and impactful.
Just as I was about to finish, it started raining again. I had to rush back to the shop to continue with my sewing.
Despite all the obstacles, I felt really happy that I didn’t let anything stop me. If not for @CleanPlanet, which gave me the knowledge and motivation, I would have walked past that street without caring about the environment.
Let’s keep spreading awareness and taking action one step at a time.
The pictures I took are below.
Thank you, everyone and a big thanks to for the inspiration.
