About a year ago I posted the opening of "Bethena" by Scott Joplin as an Open Mic entry. At the end, I said I would post the rest later. Then I never got around to it. Then while I was losing interest in steemit, Open Mic and both sort of disappeared. If anyone knows if he is OK, I would love to know that too. A new music contest is starting, and I do wish the new effort all the success. Go here to see the new rules and get involved! I think they are making some good changes. Sadly, I am not thinking so favorably about this last fork, and I expect this to be my last post on steemit.
This is not fabulous, it is raw. It is a piece I played like a pro at 15 and I just cannot seem to get it back to a polish any more. It is still my favorite piece to play, it is just fun and an absolute stretch of my physical limits - I have little hands. If you can just kick back, grab a beer and have fun with me, I believe you will enjoy this. If you are going to make note of every little flaw, you will be busy for the next several minutes making notes of my missed notes... lol!
Just a song before I go... as promised:
To everyone I have interacted with along the way, thank you! Good or bad, it was all a growing experience and I am blessed to have been a part of it. Life simply seems to be pulling me away from the internet altogether at this point. Zach Vorhies, the Google whistle-blower, did not really tell me anything I did not know but he confirmed things I was still sort of hoping I was wrong about. It just feels like it is time to get back to the real world and leave this electronic fog behind. I have used this screen name for a long time now, long enough to have found a "sign off" that amuses me and hopefully, you too...
So long and thanks for all!
