Today's #soundtracksunday is showcasing Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. It brings back some great songs from an era that time seemed to have forgotten for some millennials while reminding us Generation X'ers just how old we really are! So, without further ado, let's kick off Sunday with a great soundtrack to a great sci-fi movie!
1.Come and Get Your Love by Redbone - The band Redbone originated in California and the band is made up of Native Americans. Did you know that? They were also the very first Native American band to have a number 1 single here in the good old USA.
2.Fooled Around and Fell In Love by Elvin Bishop - Ah the aviator sunglasses and what we Americans call the "pornstache". Some things go out of style and come back as a trend (I'm referring to the aviator sunglasses in this case). However, Elvin Bishop had a tragedy occur to him in life as his ex-wife and daughter were murdered in 2000 by his ex-wife's then-husband. So, let's just hope that this song was written when he was having some good times with an old flame.
3.Go All The Way by The Raspberries - Who says Cleveland can't produce good music? After all, it's where the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame is located! Before going solo and "All by himself", the band was fronted by Eric Carmen.
I hope you enjoyed today's #soundtracksunday! Did I leave off one of your favorites from the soundtrack? Let me know what your favorite song from the soundtrack is in the comments!
