Feeling a little nostalgic for the '70s today, I decided to listen to this soundtrack for #soundtracksunday that is from the movie The Virgin Suicides. The movie, if you've ever seen it, stars James Woods, Kirsten Dunst, Kathleen Turner and few others, including Josh Hartnett. It's a decent movie but very dark, but the soundtrack is really great.
There is a heavy presence of Heart and Todd Rundgren on this soundtrack and they deserve their place on this soundtrack as I could not imagine this movie without hearing them. Now, anytime I hear the song Magic Man, I instantly think of Josh Hartnett's character (Tripp Fontaine) walking through the halls of the high school as the film's teenage heartthrob.
Some of you may also recognize the Al Green song How Do You Mend A Broken Heart from the Book of Eli soundtrack. Either way, this is one great soundtrack, and if you were born in the 1970's, or just like music from that era, then this is a great soundtrack for you to listen to.
Here are a few songs I enjoy from the track (in no particular order):
If you've seen the movie and/or heard the soundtrack, let me know. Or post your own #soundtracksunday and let me know what soundtrack you're listening to today!
Sincerely,
Ilsa Ione
