Space Jam: A New Legacy - as for the production accompanying the film Space Jam: A New Era - is quite successful. Unfortunately, it is also simple and quite short, which means that we will forget about this experience rather quickly.
Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game is a traditional beat'em up, which means that the whole thing is focused on pressing a maximum of two buttons responsible for jumping and punching. The range of heroes' skills is not particularly thrilling, because it doesn't have to be that way. The production of the Digital Eclipse studio is styled in retro style, so we tried to maintain this atmosphere in every element, including the graphics.
In this short (because it only lasts for less than an hour of fun) production, we play the role of Lola, Bugs or LeBron. The heroes take on the evil AL. G. Their role is to find the mysterious floppy disks, thanks to which they will learn the villain's location and will be able to deal with him once and for all.
You can feel quite disappointed that only two characters from the rich group of Looney Tunes cartoon characters are available to players. Where is Taz, where is Rushing Wind, where is Sam? Well, these and other cartoon heroes are present in the game ... as perks for our playable heroes. For example, Taz stuns enemies, and Sam makes more treasures appear on the screen. Some of these perks seem completely wrong to me, but well, that's how it has been done. For completing the entire game, we get most of them. The next two remain hidden until you complete the game on the hard level and complete a special boss fight mode.
A pleasant bustle that is not a long one
Despite the quite obvious shortcomings, Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game is a pretty successful walking brawl. These kinds of games had their moment of glory sometime in the 90s. It's nice to go back to that time with games like these.
This title has little to do with basketball. There is LeBron, there is a basketball, and that's about it. We can throw the ball towards each other (if we play in two or three) and throw it at the opponents. That's a kind of long-range weapon. Sometimes it's handy, but I preferred full close most of the time.
As soon as the game starts, it ends so quickly. You won't even notice when that moment comes when you see the credits. Yes, it is a free-to-play title, in addition accompanying the cinema premiere, but no one thought that it would take less than an hour to complete it. Even adding to it twice as much for passing on the difficult level, we have a result that is unlikely to satisfy anyone.
On the one hand, it can be an advantage, and it is certainly not a disadvantage for kids who were eager to play this production. A little game, but it enjoys. It lacks variety, but is addictive in cooperative play. Considering that this is a title that can be played even now, it is worth giving it a chance. It's quite a fun way to kill afternoon boredom.
