I am so eagerly looking forward to tonight's live telecast of the Artemis II mission. Finally after 50+ years a human crew lunar mission is taking place. After the Apollo there were no crew lunar missions that took place and finally one is happening today. It will be a first deep space mission after more then 50 years. I always wondered why it's not happening. I do understand there is lot of complexity in it and a huge amount of resources required, but being said that space is the future. From the Apollo mission they have learned the mistakes, made advancements and come a long way in deep Space research but no humans have gone that far after the Apollo mission.
I am sure everyone knows what is the mission of Artemis II, in short it is going to test the Orion spacecraft life support systems which will help in future human landings on the lunar surface. I have always had this wish of doing a space travel some day, I know it's a wish and may be in this life time it will not be fulfilled. Probably in the next 100 years space travel may become as common as we travelling to different countries. How exciting that would be. Now that NASA is launching Artemis II with a crew, I am sure there will be other countries lined up for such missions. I am sure we will be successful in this mission and it will be a huge victory for we humans.
The only sad part is while we aim to conquer the space, we are forgetting our beautiful home, Earth. We are not taking good care of it, these wars and political unrest, terrorism and violence is shattering out planet. In future if this continues then we will be fighting in space also capturing and making boundaries there as well. Anyways for today I am counting on hours to watch this mission, and I am sure the whole world will be looking forward to it and I am going to follow the 10 days journey as well. The Orion spacecraft is going to be live for these 10 days.
So far we have had many robotic missions in deep space but this one is going to be special with humans, testing our own limits and capabilities. I wish the crew all the very best, loads of power and success for this mission.
