A rocket launch to the International Space Station scheduled on Oct. 11, 2018 failed due to rocket's booster malfunctioning.
NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin launched aboard a Soyuz rocket at about 4:47 a.m. EDT from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Just shy of 2 minutes after liftoff, a failure in the rocket's booster triggered an automated safety system which popped the capsule off where the crew was on board. The capsule had a ballistic re-entry meaning the capsule was falling in a steeper angle putting more forces on the human body which in turn is more dangerous. Thankfully the astronauts landed safely and were picked up by the search-and-rescue team as a standard procedure
Due to the event the Soyuz program has been put on hold. They going to have full investigation on why the booster failed and aren't going to have another rocket launch in a while.
