Clitoria Tea with Lemon/ Té de clítoria con limón

Today I came to share the clitoria tea with lemon juice that I had told you in the following post, this tea has many benefits to take it and what I love about it, is its lilac color that is different from the other teas that I have taken on other occasions, it also has a rich citrus flavor.

It should be noted that the flowers I use to prepare this delicious tea, are dehydrated, that is to say, already dried, you can also use fresh flowers recently collected from the plant, but I prefer to use the dried ones to preserve the others and thus be able to store them.

How do I dehydrate the Clitoria flowers?

In particular I dry them in the traditional way, I collect my flowers with care, place them on a plate and let them dry in the open air in my kitchen for 2 or 3 days maximum, when I pick them they will be dry and ready to be stored.

How to prepare the tea?
Place ½ cup of water in a pot with two flowers, I let them boil for approximately 10 minutes, then I remove the flowers and when serving the tea I add half a lemon, that is, I squeeze half a lemon, if you want you can add sugar to taste, I particularly like it with a little bit of sugar.

You will notice that when you put the lemon in the tea it will change color from an intense blue to a very nice lilac color, this is due to the reaction of the lemon juice with the flower.

Note: This quantity is for one person, when boiling the water it will be reduced and approximately one cup will be left, that is why I use ½ cup of water. On the other hand, you can make the tea with only the Clitoria ternatea (Clitoria ternatea) the drink is equally rich and will have a beautiful blue color.

Hoy les vine a compartir el té de clitoria con zumo de limón que les había comentado en el siguiente post, este té tiene muchos beneficios al tomarlo y lo que me encanta de este, es su color lila que están diferente a los otros té que he tomado en otras ocasiones, además tiene un rico sabor cítrico.

Cabe destacar que las flores que utilizo para preparar este delicioso té, son deshidratadas es decir ya secas, también se puede utilizar flores frescas reciente recolectadas de la planta, pero yo prefiero usar las secas para conservar las otras y así poder almacenarlas.

¿Cómo deshidrato las flores de Clitoria?

En particular las seco de la forma tradicional recolecto mis flores consumo cuidado las coloco en un plato y la dejo secar al aire libre en mi cocina por 2 o 3 días máximo, estas al recogerlas estarán secas listas para ser guardadas.

¿Cómo preparar el té?
Se coloca ½ taza de agua en una olla dos flores, estas las dejo hervir por 10 minutos aproximado luego retiro las flores y al servir el té le pongo medio limón, es decir, le exprimo medio limón si deseas le puedes colocar azúcar al gusto, yo en particular me gusta con poquito de azúcar.

Vas a notar que el té cuando le coloques el limón va a cambiar de color de un azul intenso pasara a un color lila muy bonito, esto es por la reacción del zumo de limón con la flor.

Nota: Esta cantidad es para una persona, al hervir el agua este se reducirá y quedara aproximadamente una taza por eso utilizo una ½ de agua. Por otra parte, puedes hacer el té con solamente la (Clitoria ternatea) la bebida queda igualmente rica y quedara de un color azul muy bonito.

Beneficios de este té:

Lo que hace completamente saludable a esta bebida son sus antioxidantes y sus propiedades nootrópicas y adaptogénicas, las cuales proporciona energía y vitalidad al cuerpo, al mismo tiempo que calma la mente. De hecho, en la medicina tradicional india Ayurveda ha sido usado por mucho tiempo como antidepresivo.
No obstante, el té azul también es utilizado contra el envejecimiento, gracias a que aumenta los niveles de la acetilcolina (ACh), molécula que mejora la coordinación muscular y la memoria.
En el 2015 investigadores indios demostraron que la flor tiene sustancias como “alcaloides y flavonoides”. Asimismo explicaban las propiedades “antibacteriales, antidiabéticas, antidiarreicas, fungicidas, antihelmínticas, antiinflamatorias, antimicrobias, antioxidantes y antipiréticas”. En particular tomo este té cuando tengo demasiado estrés y preocupaciones antes de acostarme me hago una taza de té y este me ayudar dormir toda la noche evitando que me de insomnio, además ayuda a mejorar mi memoria.
