Un retenedor fijo es un alambre trenzado que es cementado en la cara lingual o palatina de los dientes de forma permanente, para esto se toma una impresión con alginato se envía al labaratorio, para obtener un modelo de trabajo y allí se adosan todo el alambre a esas superficies para luego ser fijados con resina.

A fixed retainer is a woven wire that is permanently cemented into the lingual or palatal side of the teeth. To do this, an impression is taken with alginate and sent to the lab to obtain a working model, where the entire wire is attached to these surfaces and then fixed with resin.
