Seguramente has escuchado hablar del tarot. ¿Quién no? Me imagino que viene a tu mente la imagen de unas cartas con unas figuras muy particulares, misteriosas. Habitualmente evocan incluso miedo, se relacionan con el mundo de el ocultismo, de esas cosas que sólo manejan los “videntes”. Pues hoy vengo a contarte que en realidad el Tarot es mucho más que eso. Y proponerte un acercamiento a esa magnífica enciclopedia de saberes.
El Tarot es un libro, un sistema, las cartas responden a un orden, a una lógica. Son imágenes que cuentan historias. Imágenes poderosas, creadas por sabios, maestros iniciados que supieron plasmar en un lenguaje simbólico enseñanzas, secretos, verdades espirituales que en principio están relacionadas con las tradiciones de las principales religiones monoteístas.
Para la Edad Media, cuando no existían los libros, el saber era “encriptado” en imágenes evocadoras para ser descifrado por quien tenía la paciencia o era iniciado por algún maestro para comprender los códigos. Y de eso está lleno el Tarot, de códigos, claves en sus colores, números, cada detalle es un símbolo cuyo significado puede ser descifrado desde la lógica y también desde la intuición, la comprensión no racional.
El uso que se ha popularizado de las cartas del tarot lo ha vulgarizado, llevándolo únicamente al campo de lo adivinatorio. Uso que además le resta poder al consultante: Pasa a ser un simple espectador de su futuro, contado por un extraño que lee unas cartas que le son ajenas, extrañas, misteriosas.
Con el riesgo que supone ceder el poder personal, pues en una consulta se abre el campo energético permitiendo que las palabras de quien se ha colocado en el lugar del sabio, del profeta, determinen el futuro de quien consulta. Esto es delicadísimo pues nuestro inconsciente da por cierta esa lectura y puede llegar a construir el futuro para que se adecúe a la profecía. Es lo que se llama “profecía autocumplida”. Es por ello que siempre recomiendo ser muy cuidadosos a la hora de elegir con quien hacer una lectura, sobre todo si se pretende hacer adivinación y mirar el futuro.
Me parece mucho más productivo realizar lecturas del presente. Utilizar el Tarot para ampliar la mirada, y desde la imaginación, la intuición, la conexión con la sabiduría ancestral, mirar los detalles, las situaciones que habitualmente ignoramos de las situaciones que hoy nos ocupan. Mi propuesta, lejos de adivinar el futuro es utilizar el tarot para construir ese futuro que deseamos, integrando aspectos de nuestra realidad gracias a una lectura guiada por un profesional o a un proceso de meditación con los Arcanos.
El tarot es infinito, pues cada quien va a mirar en él precisamente lo que está preparado para asimilar y trabajar de acuerdo a su momento vital y su evolución personal. Y eso es precisamente lo que lo convierte en una herramienta hermosa para el auto conocimiento y el crecimiento personal. Pudiendo ser útil para trabajar temas tan diversos e importantes como las relaciones personales, la sexualidad, el vínculo con los recursos materiales, el desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional y el crecimiento y evolución espiritual.
Todo ello a través de lecturas orientadas a develar el presente, de ejercicios terapéuticos, meditaciones. Con el Tarot como protagonista podemos ampliar la mirada desde la intuición, la imaginación, la espiritualidad, y alcanzar una mayor comprensión de nosotros mismos y de nuestro entorno. Siempre con el objetivo de alcanzar una vida más plena, un mayor aprovechamiento de los recursos y talentos para alcanzar mayor plenitud y bienestar aquí y ahora.

The Tarot Path to Self-Knowledge
Surely you have heard of tarot. Who hasn't? I imagine that the image of cards with very particular, mysterious figures comes to your mind. They usually evoke even fear, they are related to the world of the occult, of those things that only "seers" handle. Well, today I come to tell you that in reality the Tarot is much more than that. And to propose an approach to this magnificent encyclopedia of knowledge.
The Tarot is a book, a system, the cards respond to an order, to a logic. They are images that tell stories. Powerful images, created by wise men, initiated masters who knew how to capture in a symbolic language teachings, secrets, spiritual truths that in principle are related to the traditions of the main monotheistic religions.
In the Middle Ages, when books did not exist, knowledge was "encrypted" in evocative images to be deciphered by those who had the patience or were initiated by a master to understand the codes. And that is what the Tarot is full of, codes, keys in its colors, numbers, every detail is a symbol whose meaning can be deciphered from logic and also from intuition, non-rational understanding.
The popularized use of tarot cards has vulgarized it, taking it only to the field of divination. This use has also disempowered the querent: he or she becomes a simple spectator of his or her future, told by a stranger who reads cards that are alien, strange and mysterious to him or her.
With the risk of ceding personal power, because in a consultation the energetic field is opened, allowing the words of the one who has placed himself in the place of the sage, of the prophet, to determine the future of the one who consults. This is very delicate because our unconscious takes for certain that reading and can build the future to suit the prophecy. This is called "self-fulfilling prophecy". That is why I always recommend to be very careful when choosing with whom to do a reading, especially if you intend to do divination and look into the future.
I find it much more productive to do readings in the present. To use the Tarot to broaden our gaze, and from imagination, intuition, the connection with ancestral wisdom, to look at the details, the situations that we usually ignore of the situations that occupy us today. My proposal, far from divining the future, is to use the tarot to build the future we desire, integrating aspects of our reality thanks to a reading guided by a professional or a meditation process with the Arcana.
The tarot is infinite, because each person will look at it precisely what he or she is prepared to assimilate and work with according to his or her vital moment and personal evolution. And that is precisely what makes it a beautiful tool for self-knowledge and personal growth. It can be useful to work on topics as diverse and important as personal relationships, sexuality, the link with material resources, the development of emotional intelligence and spiritual growth and evolution.
All this through readings oriented to unveil the present, therapeutic exercises, meditations. With the Tarot as a protagonist we can broaden our view from intuition, imagination, spirituality, and reach a greater understanding of ourselves and our environment. Always with the goal of achieving a fuller life, a greater use of resources and talents to achieve greater fulfillment and well-being here and now.
