De orígenes muy precarios, Carlitos vivió su infancia en Fuerte Apache, un complejo de edificios que terminó siendo habitado por gente de escasos recursos, vivir en esta zona lo expuso a él y su familia a situaciones de mucho riesgo y declaró más de una vez que fue el fútbol lo único que evitó un destino en la delincuencia. Se lo apodó muchas veces como el "jugador del pueblo" debido a su constante colaboración y asistencia a ese barrio humilde de Gran Buenos Aires.
Of very precarious origin, Carlitos lived his childhood in Fuerte Apache, a building complex that ended up being inhabited by people of low resources, living on this area exposed him and his family to risky situations and he declared later that football was the only thing that prevented him from a crime destiny. He was nicknamed a lot of times as the "player of the people" because of his constant support and assistance to this neighborhood from Gran Buenos Aires.
Luego de un breve paso por China, Carlos vuelve a Boca Juniors para disputar la Copa Libertadores 2018.
