- Cartulina blanca, azul celeste, azul marino y negra
- Cartón grueso
- Pintura metalizada azul y plateada
- Pintura al frío blanca y negra
- Pegamento blanco escolar
- Ganchos de cabello
After a few days with problems of electricity, telecommunications and water service, today I bring you a Filigree of a Cardboard Butterfly.
Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc. Quilling starts with rolling a strip of paper into a coil and then pinching the coil into shapes that can be glued together. There are advanced techniques and different sized paper that are used to create 3D miniatures, abstract art, flowers and portraits among many things.

My mother, organizing the house, found some craft magazines that she used to collect, among them one on how to make filigrees, and she suggested me to make one to vary between so many drawings and paintings. However, I didn't count on it giving me so much work.
I made this filigree inspired by the butterfly Hypolimnas Salmacis, for its beautiful blue color and the design of its wings caught my attention.
For this work I used:
- Cardboard white, sky blue, navy blue and black
- Thick cardboard
- Metallic blue and silver paint
- Cold black and white paint
- White school glue
- Hair hooks
