For many of you this post will mean nothing but for those of you who struggle with how to use/write basic words correctly - THIS is the post for you!
*Your or You’re: In many people’s minds these are interchangeable and/or the same word. The difference is very simple if you just remember this:
If you break down your sentence and are saying “your table” or “your house” then you’re using “your” correctly. If you break down the word in a sentence to say “you are” then “you’re” is correct.
You see, the apostrophe goes where there is a missing letter. Memorize this phrase and you will never have to question if you’re right or wrong! Did you get that though? “You are” equals “you’re” because the missing letter is “a”. It’s like the original way of “texting” because two words became one with adding an apostrophe.
Here are some more examples: “I would like to have your party when you’re home so we can celebrate on your special day.” You only use “you’re” where “you are” is needed. You wouldn’t say, “I would like to have “you are” party..” That is how you’re (you are) going to know when your spelling is correct!
Oh, and please only use “ur” when in a rush whilst texting or you’re under the age of 10. 😉
