This post is insightful, does anyone know why this great species of spider (wolf spider) is being called wolf spider.
The answer simply stated thus: because it hunt and catch its prey like a wolf.

It can be found in open grasslands and fields, suburban backyards, wooded areas, wet coastal forests, and in vegetation along streams, lakes and marshes.
