This man pulled out from a rocky hollow a bunch of 'daddy longlegs', the colloquial name assigned to almost 6,000 species of arachnids from the Opiliones order. The normal behavior of these Opiliones might terrify you. They used to gather in larger communities, because is easier to heat in cool dark caves, but also to defend themselves from predators.
For what are Opiliones known?
The Opiliones are known for having exceptionally long legs relative to their body size; however, some species are short-legged. As in the Araneae, the body in the Opiliones has two tagmata, the anterior cephalothorax or prosoma, and the posterior 10-segmented abdomen or opisthosoma.
The most obvious difference between harvestmen and spiders is that in harvestmen, the connection between the cephalothorax and abdomen is broad, so that the body appears to be a single oval structure. If you are interested to read more about Opiliones click on the blue words.
I don't know if I'd be done the same as this man did, but I would not recommend to anyone else to do this because you never know what is hiding in those holes. If you want to prove that you are brave, first, you have to prove that you're smart and don't have to do stupid things that might put you in danger.
