With it's origins in Eastern Asia, the May Bush ( Spiraea ) is suitable to be grown in Temperate and cooler climates, but not the tropics. Ah well, you can't have everything. I took this photo in Springtime a few months ago, when this Pink May bush was in full bloom. It's the smaller cousin of the White May bush ( Spireaea cantoniensis ) , which i did a post on a while back. With it's Pink double flowers, this plant will bring a burst of colour to a sunny spot in your garden, and with few pests and diseases, it is relatively easy to grow. The cane-like growth can be pruned back after flowering if needed to keep the plant compact. This plant was spotted in my home suburb.
