The Book of Acts of the Apostles tells how Philip, a preacher of the Christian faith, was snatched away by the spirit of God. It is important to note that the concept of rapture or being taken away by the spirit is not something that appears frequently in the Bible. In the Book of Revelation, it is reported that the apostle John was taken away by the spirit to write this same book (Revelations 1:10, Revelations 4:2). The Bible also tells that the prophet Ezekiel was caught up in the spirit (Ezekiel 3:12, Ezekiel 3:14). But it must be taken into account that both the prophet Ezekiel and the apostle John were kidnapped by the spirit to bear witness to divine visions, but not in the case of Philip; what the Bible tells is that Philip was simply kidnapped to bear witness to the gospel in a different region than where he was at the time.
About Philip, the Book of Acts tells us several interesting things, first that he was chosen by the Twelve to preach the word (Acts 6:5) and that he was filled with the holy spirit, and that he performed signs and wonders (Acts 8:4-8). In any case, what the Book of Acts does make clear is that Philip was taken away by the Spirit because he was carrying out a very important task.
In this way, the Book of Acts tells us about the rapture of Philip and the baptism of the Ethiopian, after his conversion to the Christian faith:
"Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, ´Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?´ And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing" Acts 8:35-39.
