There is a guy who swear that he loves his father. While his father undoubtedly loves him.
Now, it happened one day that his father has to go somewhere far and won't be back till some days later.
The father asked this guy to put the house in order and TO PAINT THE HOUSE WHITE, within and without.
Now, the guy being a "good guy", put many things in order in the house and is a bit proud of what he has accomplished thus far.
Now all that remains is to PAINT THE HOUSE WHITE.
But the guy is having another idea about this matter. He thinks "WHITE" is a bit boring, and can easily look dirty.
So he is currently considering painting the house, BLUE.
He is in this thought when an inquisitive friend passed by and he asked his friend's comment about his idea.
"Well," said the guy's friend..."Since, you will be the one painting the house, YOU CAN DECIDE ABOUT THE COLOR YOU WILL USE!"
Half convinced about the reasoning of his friend, he asked another neighbor who passed by.
The neighbor has another reason for him: "You are the SON OF YOUR FATHER, so you have the right to change the COLOR OF THE PAINT OF THE HOUSE THAT YOU WILL INHERIT ANYWAY." This one sounds more convincing.
Just to convince himself fully, that changing the paint color is ABSOLUTELY okay, he asked a third person and this time, he asked his girlfriend that visited him. She quipped "White?! That is so old timer color! We should be modern now. Houses are painted so they will look and feel NEW. Why then would you use an OLD color?"
That is just what the guy needed. So he went his way and finally painted the house in a LIGHT BLUE HUE.
Here is the question fo you. Did the guy OBEYED HIS FATHER? Will his father be happy with what happened?
Think hard about your answer.
Among the many religions of today, this is what is happening. Almost all of them are giving and finding more REASONS why they should NOT OBEY what GOD wanted. Instead, they create their own set of religious rules and regulations that their "faithful" should follow TO THE LETTER.
For example, the third law of the so called "Ten Commandments" of God, requires His people to observe the SABBATH, a weekly day of rest that correspond to the seventh (7th) day of the week, we call Saturday.
Yet among the many supposedly worshippers of this God, this clear and simple law is not observed. This non-observance of Sabbath vividly demonstrate, why many are JUST WASTING THEIR TIME, dutifully obeying their religious dogmas AGAINST God's requirements.
Why would anyone KEEP a day of worship like SUNDAY, or any other day beside what God actually asks? IF we would spend a day to worship God, why not do it on the day HE REQUIRED? Why waste our effort and do something else? Indeed we are like the guy in our illustration before, that painted the house as commanded by his father, only he painted it WITH DIFFERENT COLOR than what was asked of him. A real waste of a good opportunity, time and effort.
Somehow, we are all placed in the guy's shoes. Our creator, our God clearly gave HIS COMMANDS to us. Then we find REASONS on WHY WE SHOULD NOT OBEY THEM.
We have come to the point that we are AFRAID to offend OUR FELLOWMEN but are not afraid a bit to OFFEND the one that provided everything that we ENJOY. We try to twist God's command so that it will conform to OUR WILL, instead of HIS WILL. We find reasons to INVALIDATE His commands for the things we PREFER.
We totally lost the understanding that, the obedience to the covenant(contract) is our only claim and chance to receive what is promised within it, namely the everlasting life. Matthew 7:21-23 Deut 30:19. And that we can ONLY PROVE OR LOVE FOR GOD WITH OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. 1 John 5:3
I have tried to prove that THERE IS GOD.
I have tried to convinced anyone who would be interested that GOD GAVE LAWS.
And I have tried to show that our purpose of existence is to OBEY those laws and PRAISE our Creator.
The messenger can only show the water, it is you who will decide if you wanted to drink. And that is how the truth works.
CHOOSE LIFE, Because all those other things that we can pursue will mean nothing without it.
