We know the light we "see" is a tiny segment of the currently known electromagnetic spectrum. Donald Hoffman argues in a Case Against Reality that this makes perfect sense in that we evolve for fitness and reproducibility, not to perceive reality as it is or to know truth. Given this set of facts, can you imagine, for a moment, there are entities in nature that exist outside of our perception? What if we someday, like in the fictional movie Ghostbusters, devise a way to verify these entities exist just as we can now measure aspects of the electromagnetic spectrum that we can't see with our eyes alone? What if we further documented how those entities interact with our day to day lives, emotions, thoughts, relationships, etc.?
Wouldn't that change a lot about how people go about their lives?
Religions have, I think, known about these entities for a very long time. They tell stories about them which serve their particular perspective and though they may help some people, I think they also enslave many others. One thing I do find interesting is to find consistencies between various religions and spiritual traditions. What do they agree on? For example, is there a theme that these entities exist with polarity, some as low vibrational beings of darkness, feeding on low energies like fear, pain, depression, anxiety, destruction, selfishness, and suffering and some as high vibrational beings of light which seem to facilitate and promote high energies like love, joy, peace, connection, giving, and creation?
If these things became more understood and agreed upon across a wide range of people from all sorts of worldviews, would it change how we live our lives? Would we help each other be more present and aware of our thoughts and actions and how they influence the "astral" world where these entities are said to exist?
Or maybe it would just be more "out of sight, out of mind." Maybe we on the whole wouldn't care just as many get sunburned because they don't consider UV indexes and such.
I don't know. Regardless of what you end up believing, it's undeniable that where you put your energy determines the quality of your life. If you focus on and feed the negative, that's what you'll get more of.
Notice, nowhere in this post did I say "good" or "bad." Negative/positive, dark/light, low vibes/high vibes... these are just dimensions of what is. We don't think the color red is "bad" or the color blue is "good" just because blue has a shorter wave length than red, do we? Try starting a car without a negative battery terminal. When you have a cell that doesn't also have the capacity for destruction, you have cancer that can end you. No pain is also known as leprosy. Depression may be the higher self rebelling against the avatar you've forced them to live in. These things aren't necessarily "bad" as they can all serve a purpose, in moderation. In balance.
It's all story telling, and you're the author. I'm grateful to be in a story that values joy and love and peace. I have abundance, and it's wonderful. That's what I feed and that's what I get more of. Others are following different stories and, to me, many of them seem rather miserable. I hope they change their story for something better, but that's not my job. I'm here to do me. And the me I'm here to be is happy, content, and enjoying the process of being less wrong about my true nature and the nature of reality.
What a beautiful journey this is!
Please, be mindful of what you feed today. You will get more of it.
