Subiaco is said to be a favorite place for Romans because it takes 1:30 by car from Rome. Specially is it told that three artificial lakes and the villa of Emperor Nero were built because the water here is so clear.
The day I arrived in Subiaco was Saturday. A marketplace was opened. The landscape of this small town was so beautiful that I regretted coming here for a day trip. I didn't have enough time to look around here because I had to climb on the monastery of Subiaco.
The water is very clear and fast. Sound and sight from water flow seemed to remove my defilement all at once. It might be quite natural that Saint Benedict came here as the place of internal alchemy.
