Man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body. Genesis 1:26-27 (BIBLE) teaches that man is a spirit being. He is made in the likeness of God. Jesus also pointed out that God is a Spirit in John 4:24 and so man must of necessity be a spirit.
Jesus said to Nicodemus "...except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" John 3:3. Nicodemus, being natural, could only think naturally. So he said, "...how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Vs4. Jesus was not talking about physical birth. He said, "that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit" Vs6. That part of man that is born again is his spirit. The greatest miracle of our life is that through Christ we have been transformed from sinners to saints, from darkness into His marvelous light. This is a spiritual transformation and as such we must seek to grow in the spirit. Every new born is expected to grow.
Let's get down to business. Broadly speaking, there are four necessities you must concurrently oblige in order to get to the full measure of the stature of Christ.
1) Meditating on the Word
2) Practicing the Word
3) Giving the Word first place
4) Instantly obeying the voice of your spirit.
Look at what Joshua1:8 says: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
