Just to start off with. I don't have a vector image of my card so I have to do a screenshot of it and then convert it to grayscale and try engraving it in my Glowforge. If I had a good SVG file of my Splinterlands cards I could try some other methods like B&W or something else in Inkscape. For this project I just did a screenshot and converted to grayscale in GIMP which I am not that familiar with.
The first time I tried I forgot to cut a rectangle around it so I had to do it over again. The settings on this are vary power at speed 1000 with max power at 90 (which is really low) and the wood is .200 thousandths thick Mahogany ply from Home Depot which you can only order online and I think it has an MDF core because look how the deeper cuts have a yellow color to them.

As you can see this didn't really turn out well. I think a lighter wood and if I can get a vector image of the cards this would be more succesful
