Splinterlands Art Contest // Week 172 // Selenia Sky [ENG]

Hello everyone :)

I'm from Indonesia, and this is my first time posting here, and I want to dedicate my first post to join splinterlands art contest week 172 !
The character I'm making is one of my favorite character that i mostly use when playing Splinterlands, which is SELENIA SKY, a summoner that gives buff to ranged attack.

The idea of my drawing is, Selenia is waiting for her soon to be partner, the green dragon, to hatch from the egg :)

I'm making my art using PROCREATE
Here is the journey of me drawing the character :

1. Sketching
First, I made a quick smooth sketch of the pose and elements needed on my idea.

2. Bolding the sketch
I bold all outer lines of my sketch

3. Colorizing main colors
Next, I colorize all the main colors of the character, according to how the original selenia sky colors are
Ps : In this step, I realized that i make mistake on drawing her shirt ( border between shirt & pants part ). The shirt supposed to be go inside the pants and the belt wrapped the shirt inside together with the pants outside, so I did fix that part a bit here to make it more similar to the original drawing

4. Adding color and shadow details
After putting basic colors on the drawing, I add more details like shadow line and shadow color

and I added her handsleeves here too !

5. Drawing the egg
I gave Selenia a black gloves when the original in game art don't have, why ? Because in my drawing, she's holding a powerful dragon egg which is about to hatch soon ! :D
Steps on drawing the egg just same as drawing the character, starts with bolding the sketch

and colorize it

6. Making hair details
This is the hardest part for me and take the longest time to draw this, a lot of line drawing, deleting lines, shadowing, etc.
Ps : What makes it even harder is, I messed up a bit of layering at start because a lot of unexpected things in the making of the drawing ( My bad, but learned from it ! hehe ). But at least it never mess up anything, the picture is still 100% the same with my idea, just made me need to do more effort & time to make the drawing :p

7. Finishing
Finally the drawing is almost done ! I made details on the egg hatching part and gave Selenia her spear :) I also changed the background color for me to be able to see the hatching effect ( since the effect I made is white color )
