No matter how much guides you check, sometimes you can't avoid mistakes, and I may have learned this the hard way.
I thought I was one lucky player when I got around 2000 DEC from my loot chests. Sure, it helped me climb up to Diamond II last season but guess what? It seems like I've made bad decisions along the way. Maybe I got too excited!
Definitely not stonks. When you have too much DEC, think before buying/renting anything.
Does that Llama + Kron combo look enticing? Rent!
What about that Yodin Zaku you were so curious about before? Rent!
Saw another player using Delwyn Dragonscale? Let's try that for days! Rent!
You see, I went on a frenzy without thinking of what splinter/s should I have focused on and I ended up renting more than what was sustainable. I don't regret spending all my DEC to experience different gameplays but I sure do regret blindly doing it! If I took my time filtering my choices, perhaps I would have enjoyed it longer.
As notable people have said in the past, mistakes are definitely okay and they lead you to making more knowledgeable decisions!
Since it appears that my previous renting needs can't keep up with my DEC supply, I've decided to just stop pushing past Gold I this season and focus on preparing for the next one instead.
If you're also a newbie like me, don't make the same mistakes I did! Make sure to focus on a Splinter or two and plan ahead. Doesn't hurt to be prepared, right?
I found SL Guides to be very informative and I do a couple more replays whenever I forget some bits of info! Try checking them out on YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-OOmTDl1EnOAZR6LUeQVjQ/videos
Don't forget to check around Splinterlands' Discord and don't be afraid to ask there as well! I hang out around the #philippines channel and people there are helpful. Finally, let me know how do you prepare for the next season under the comments!
