Good morning Splinterfriends, Hivers and Soulkeepers!!
Today we look into my personal life a little bit...
If you've been following me for any amount of time I am sure you know that I work a lot... like... A LOT π
But this weekend was different... I turned 40... so I am officially Old.
However... I had a great evening on Saturday celebrating my birthday with my girlfriend, her family and some close friends.
It wasn't a big event (I'm too old for all that)... but we had a good time... right up until we had boxed our remaining food...
Now... for those who remember, my gf accompanied me to Splinterfest and went as "Lux Vega" to my Dr Blight:
We sure were hot and tired at that point of the event - thanks to Hurricane for the photo!
Interesting tidbit about her - she has the uncanny ability to guess almost everything when I say "I have a surprise for you"... She might actually be psychic... not 100% sure she isn't π€
Back to the story... At this point, she had moved seats to sit next to her grandmother and was sitting on the edge of our group table... I walked over and thanked her for putting together such a wonderful evening...
I said "Thank you for putting this all together, it was wonderful being able to spend time with you and your family as well as my friends"
She smiled up at me... Then I threw the mental flashbang...
I continued: "The gifts were great... except I think you forgot one"...
I looked into her eyes and could literally see the gears locking up while her mental dynamos powered up to maximum capacity as she frantically searched every corner of her memory banks to figure out what she forgot...
She said "Babe... I don't know what you mean... I can't think of anything I forgot"...
So I said: "Brittany, at 40, I think the best gift you could possibly give me would be to spend the rest of my life with me..."
Naturally... her first reaction was "Is this a joke??" with HUGE, teary, puppy dog eyes...
I smiled straight from the heart as I got down on one knee and finished "No... this is no joke... will you marry me?"
Queue the water works...
After a moment... she exclaimed "OMG yes, YES!!"
At that point... we went from having a good time... to a GREAT TIME π
The rest of the evening was a blur and we went out to celebrate with the friends who came to dinner and enjoyed a night on the town... only this time when I introduced her... it wasn't "this is my girlfriend..." it was "this is my fiancΓ©..." π
I shared a few milestones with you along the way... so I wanted to share these two HUGE milestones with you too :)
That's why I haven't been on much and that's all I have for today!!
I hope you have a great day and I'll be back to my regular content next time :)
Cheers π»,
