Hello Peak'd & my fellow Splinterlandians,
Nothing fancy today, no GIFs, no jokes, no shenanigans...
Ok... maybe a small shenanigan... no promises.
Life's been hard for many of us, especially the last few years... but I have some good news I want to share... trust me... read through the post and it does have a happy ending...
NOT THAT KIND OF HAPPY ENDING YA WEIRDOS!
I haven't been on here much because I have been living that two job life for 4+ years paying off my debts (divorce + failed business)
Over the last 10 months, I doubled down on my focus, worked harder than ever and was rewarded in chronological order by:
-Getting Tboned by another car (his fault) [Oct]
-Having my worst sales month on record [Oct]
-Breaking up with my gf just after Thanksgiving [Nov]
-Losing power over Christmas due to extreme cold and wind [Dec]
-4.5 days later having power restored only to have a water pipe burst because it froze 8 hours before power was restored [Dec]
-New Years Eve I tried to help stop a fight from breaking out because a dude hit a woman and things started to get rowdy... so I tried calming things down... but one of his friends sucker punched me... WITH A BEER BOTTLE... in the face.
As I staggered back, tripped over a knee high table (on heated patio), fell and busted my head on the concrete corner post...
So I spent NYE in the ER getting stiches in my head (still not fully healed) and NY day wasn't nursing a hangover... was nursing a nasty headwound and swollen jaw. [Dec]
However... HOW. EVER.
Despite all that... I picked myself back up and kept moving forward.
As of February - I paid off the final $11,257 dollars in Business Debt
As of Today - I paid off one of my two credit cards that helped me get through the last 5 years...
I have several more goal to hit and I'll be damned if someone or something short of fucking Divine Intervention is going to stop me from achieving them.
Fuck yeah lads n lasses... we in the home stretch!!
You know what that means...
The point of all this is:
No matter how hard life gets... no matter how many L's it seems to hand you... no matter HOW MANY TIMES LIFE KNOCKS YOU DOWN... or literally even KNOCKS YOU OUT...
You have TWO choices... Stay there and wallow in your misery... OR GET UP AND SAY "THANK YOU LIFE, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER"
With that being said...
It's time to pull out all the stops and sprint for the finish line... which is actually just the Starting Blocks of preparing to relaunch my restaurant and get back to WHY I AM ON EARTH.
