I have a small number of land plots and they are not all maxed out or with totems and definitely don't have runi's to help them out!
But i wondered if i can play the land game, be self sufficient, and maybe eventually as i build the PP on them actually make a profit?
I managed to get a good cross section of plots more by luck than judgement to be honest and currently have 3 Grain, 2 Stone, 1 Iron and 1 Wood so can produce all the resources and have 1 stone plot to play with if i want to produce SPS or Research. My 3 grain plots are rare so get that boost but the rest are common.
Grain plots all sit in Lunaden.
All other plots sit in Harkden.
So there is the first part of the problem in being self sufficient, unwanted costs of transport.
Now, I did start doing a big spreadsheet but things have been complicated with the prospect of the new building and its going to be fun trying to add all these additional items like wagons and potions as they come along but in the meantime i'm not going to reinvent the wheel when has produced an amazing tool to do most of the work for me which can be found at https://splinter-lands.streamlit.app/
After taxes and transport costs although I am 100% self sufficient if I trade some goods, I can, with a few extra PP on my grain plots not have to venture to the market. Obviously as more things come online and we need more buildings it will fast become impossible to be a jack of all trades and the small land holders will have to work together via the trade hub to create a bustling economy but in the meantime I am going to keep adding PP to my plots in a ratio that keeps me self sufficient and any profits will be used to expand my empire!!
Will the fomo get me and i want to create my 1 midnight potion a year? I do like the look of the Aura Lab but i think im a long way off getting one of those built.
As I increase my land production and expand i'll be keeping an eye on my self sufficiency with the help of the great tools available, thanks to Peakmonsters and Beaker007!
