Hey guys and gals. I've done a little bit of pixel art, but never something as complex as this, took me about 15 hours to complete. Basically, I used the original artwork for Mimosa Nightshade as a guideline (I really love this picture), and changed her arms and her clothing too, and added a different spell effect too. I really enjoyed while doing this, I hope you like it as much as I do ^^.
I used Aseprite to draw this, I'll post some pictures of the process.
First thing I did was draw the contour from her hair and face, trying to reduce the color palette to max 12. I hid the eyebrows and eyes below her hair and also changed her chin a bit, it looked.. weird.. Tried to recreate the highlights and shadows from the original artwork, while removing the lighting from the magic spell she is casting on the original.
Then I drew the arms, I used the Evangelist artwork as a guideline too.
I wasn't sure how I was going to dress her up, so I decided to remove the cape and leave the original shirt with a little twist.
And then I drew a short dress/skirt and the heels ^^,
The final step was to add the new magic spell effect (with some transparency) and my signature.
I've never spent so much time on a drawing lol, but it was fun, I loved every minute.
