Spiders are very special little (or sometimes a bit bigger 😁) creatures. People either like them or fear them but no one seems to be indifferent towards the alien-looking arachnids.
So what is potentially more terrifying than a regular spider, a Lava Spider of course!😜
Here is my most recent battle which included this nightmare monster:
- Ruleset of the match:
Little League (Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles)
Stampede (The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed)
Mana Cap:
Line-up:
I went for Radiated Scorcher in the first position since it has the Shatter ability (Target's armor is destroyed when hit by an attack from Monsters with Shatter) at level 3, which is very useful if it could get the first hit against the enemy tank. Normally tank monsters have a decent amount of armor which is worth shattering. I also costs just 1 Mana and is often used as a filler card.
The second spot in the line-up was allocated to the actual tank in the setup, namely Antoid Platoon. I selected it due to its low mana cost and the Shield ability (Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks). This makes it a very good choice as far as low-mana tanks are concerned.
The third spot in the line-up was taken by the star of this week's Share Your Battle Show, namely the one and only Lava Spider. It is a very good low budget ranged monster with decent speed and a substantial amount of health for its mana cost of 3. What makes it even more special is the fact that it has the Snipe ability (Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic or no attack that are not in the first position) in its arsenal starting from level 1. This ability can determine the outcome of a battle on its own if the Lava Spider is able to take down low health priority targets in the backline of the enemy forces.
Last but not least in the last spot of this setup is Serpentine Spy which again is a low-budget but well-statted monster with its base attack of two, and of course, with its Opportunity ability (Monsters with the opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health). This ability together with Snipe are often vital for the success of the line-up.
- And now for the BATTLE itself:
Off the start I knew I was not in a favorable position as my opponent had also opted to start with their tank in the 2nd spot, so my cunning plan to shatter its armor was disrupted.
After the 1st Round I had already lost my Serpentine Spy while the enemy had not suffered any loses yet.
Following Round 2 the situation seemed even more dire and I was certain I had basically lost the battle at this point. My forces had managed to pick off one of their Monsters, while I was already 2 monsters down.
After the 3rd Round the Antoid Platoon was still hanging in there together with our beloved Lava Spider (due to its decent amount of health)
Start of Round 5 on the Platoon is still standing, however, it became evident that due to the low attack of the tank Monster and the Harpy, they were unable to take any armor or health off of my monster.
Round 6 the Enemy's tank was almost down and now the battle would be settled in a dance of death between the Stitch Leech and the Platoon.
Fast forward to Round 10 and the victory lap of the Platoon around the helpless Celestial Harpy.
So in the end the Platoon saved the day but not without the help of its faithful companion the Lava Spider.
