Splinterlands Card Giveaway
Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.
Last week's prize was this Highland Archer card.

For this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway, I'm giving away this Level 1 Silvershield Archers card.
Imagine, if you can, a monster card that has not one, but two attacks each round! Once long ago in the Splinterlands, the Double Strike ability did not exist. Monsters only had one attack each round. But then the Silvershield Archers arrived on the scene and everything changed. This dynamic duo was the first to allow a monster to attack twice in a round.
"Big deal, two attacks at one point of damage each!" That was the general consensus at the time of the Silvershield Archers release almost 4 years ago. They didn't exactly set the world on fire.
But what if you had a Life Summoner that granted +1 to ranged attacks like say...General Sloan? Suddenly you have a card that costs only 2 Mana points and can deal 4 points of damage each round. Now that the Summoner has come that the Silvershield Archers have been waiting for, they are a force to be reckoned with.
Not too surprisingly, the Silvershield Archers card has jumped up considerably in price since the release of Chaos Legion. The cheapest level 1 Silvershield Archers is priced at a very respectable $1.49 on the Splinterlands market.
Now take a moment and imagine a monster with an, as of yet, unreleased new ability, call it "Called Shot", that gives +1 to ranged attacks. And now imagine again what a card like Silvershield Archers would be worth if it was paired with a monster with "Called Shot" and the Summoner General Sloan. And remember all this from a monster that only costs 2 Mana!
If you are just starting out and haven't been able to add a Silvershield Archers card to your deck or just need another one to level yours up, then you should get in on this giveaway. This card will be sent to one lucky winner when this contest closes at post payout time. If this Silvershield Archers card doesn't fit in with your master plan for Splinterlands domination, or if you lack the skill and wisdom necessary to achieve victory with it, you can always rent it to someone else or try to sell it in the market.
