Splinterlands Card Giveaway
Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

This Week's Giveaway
For this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway, I'm giving away this Level 1 Vampire card.
The Vampire packs a lot of power, even at Level 1. One of the only original ranged attack monsters that dealt 2 points of damage, and equipped with Life Leech, he could hold his own as long as he was protected for a round or two. As he leveled up, he added flying ability at Level 6 and could do 4 points of damage at Level 9.
And he is fast!
By level 8, his speed of 7 and flying ability make him extremely hard to hit.
Sadly, when the Vampire card was first introduced there were more cards than players to use them. The price quickly plummeted to only $0.01, and people burned them by the hundreds for the DEC value. As a result, over 1/3 of all Vampire cards minted were eventually burned.
Surprisingly, the Vampire is still remarkably affordable for a card that packs so much power and such a small surviving number of BCX. Currently, you can buy a level 1 Vampire on the Splinterlands Marketplace for only $0.31 each.
