Out-of-Print Splinterlands Card Giveaway
Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards and give you a little history on the origins of the card. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for two years or more, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

This Week's Giveaway
This week's Blast From The Past Giveaway card is the Exploding Dwarf.
This is one of the rare common cards that gets massively powerful as it levels up. It starts life with the Blast ability and by level 3 acquires Piercing as well. Then at level 6 it gains the Retaliate ability. Finally, if you get your card up to level 9 the Exploding Dwarf also gets Stampede ability.
When I first saw the Exploding Dwarf, I immediately dismissed it due to its 1 Health. But as new rulesets were released, the options to use this powerful monster grew and grew. Here are a few of the rulesets I like to use this card in: Equalizer, Holy Protection, Melee Mayhem and Super Sneak. With the Equalizer ruleset the Exploding Dwarf can shine as a tank, especially if you have a lot of Tank Heals to back him up. In the Holy Protection ruleset, it's a little more difficult to use the card but at higher levels you can hope the Retaliate ability allows it to spread additional damage before it's taken out. Finally, in the Melee Mayhem and Super Sneak rulesets, it's best to bury the Exploding Dwarf in the middle of your back row and hope your opponent isn't using Thorns.

If you're playing in the Wild format, you need an Exploding Dwarf to spread destruction and cause all kinds of mayhem in your opponent's ranks!
