Hello everyone,
I am back with another entry to the Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest.
I couldn't make up my mind this time what I wanted to do, because I wanted to do another sketchbook spread and I landed on 2 cards that I think match thematically and stylistically and fit them in a sketchbook spread.
Here are the two cards:
Serpent of the flame
Twilight Basilisk
I wanted to test how good does my sketchbook paper hold water so I went for a watercolor drawing with a bit of colored pencils to finish, because the paper is not really thick and will probably bend really bad under repeated wetting, which will be required in order for it to be full watercolor.
Here is the initial sketch I did:
I refined it a bit and lightened it up to get ready to put in the initial colors:
Here we go with some color in and the Serpent of the flame almost done:
And here is the final result:
I am really glad on how the paper held on and also on the final result and I hope that you will also enjoy it.
If you took time out of the day to check out my post I thank you and wish you a great rest of your day/night and until next time.
Materials used:
Moleskine sketchbook
Rosa watercolors
Faber-Castell colored pencils
